Located in the middle of Seoul city, Seoul Square is historically significant as a national symbol, forming a representative image of Seoul with historic and cultural resources around.
The oval shape of Grass square reminds us of the full moon seen from the main floor of Korean traditional house. The environment-friendly underground reservoir gathers the drained rain water to sprinkle over the grass, where many grand-scale cultural events are held.
The former fountain was replaced by a floor fountain, which displays a festival of streams changing every moment during day and of 131 LED underwater lighting of seven colors at night, rendering 35 splendid scenes with the height ranging from 70m to 2.5m.
48 lightings are established around the grass square, making a gorgeous night view from the beauty of space, in harmony with their surroundings.
