Mulhouse is a city and commune in eastern France, close to the Swiss and German borders. With a population of 110,514^[1] and 278,206 inhabitants in the metropolitan area^[2] in 2006, it is the largest city in the Haut-Rhin department, and the second largest in the Alsace region after Strasbourg.

Mulhouse é a maior comuna do departamento (département) francês do Haut-Rhin e a segunda da região Alsácia, depois de Estrasburgo. Ela é atravessada por dois rios, o Doller e o Ill, afluentes do Reno. Mulhouse situa-se a aproximadamente 30 km ao norte da Basiléia, na Suíça, a uns 15 km da fronteira franco-alemã e a uns 120 km ao sul de Estrasburgo.
